How can we help?
Whether you are getting set up, moving to a new phone, or ran into something unexpected, we are here. OmniVault runs fully offline with no accounts, so the best way to reach a real person is a quick email.
Talk to us directly
Because OmniVault has no servers, no accounts, and no telemetry, there is no live chat or web form to file a ticket. Email us and a human will read it.
Quick help for the usual things
Most messages we get fall into one of these. Here is the short version before you write in.
Forgot your passphrase
This is the hard one, and we want to be honest: there is no recovery by design. Your passphrase is the only key, and it never leaves your device, so neither we nor anyone else can reset it. If it is truly gone, the vault cannot be opened. Going forward, store it somewhere safe and offline, and keep an encrypted backup.
Reinstalling or a new phone
Moving devices is easy if you set up the optional encrypted backup. Install OmniVault on the new phone, choose restore, and point it at your encrypted Drive backup. Your passphrase decrypts it locally. No backup means nothing to restore, so it is worth enabling early.
Install will not open
Android blocks apps from outside the Play Store until you allow them. When prompted, enable installs from this source for your browser or file manager, then open the APK again. The download page walks through the exact steps for your phone.
Report a bug
Found something off? Email us with your Android version, your phone model, and the steps that triggered it. The more detail, the faster we can reproduce and fix it. Screenshots help, as long as they do not reveal anything private.
